Modern Drawing Opening 10.05.12

Here's a brief peek at the opening of Scott Seekins Presents: Modern Drawing at Cult Status Gallery.

Thanks to all the talented artists who contributed and especially to Scott Seekins and Erin Sayer for putting together this amazing show for us to participate in.  And as always a big thanks to all of you who make it out to these shows, I'm very grateful for your support.

Scott Seekins Presents: Modern Drawing, The Lost Art

Lampwick JA©2012
I've got some work in the upcoming Cult Status Gallery show, Scott Seekins Presents: Modern Drawing, The Lost Art.

Modern Drawing opens Friday October 5th and runs through October 19th.  Cult Status Gallery is located at 2913 Harriet Avenue South Minneapolis, MN.

I've always had an affinity for drawing, it's immediacy and it's accessibility.  It's my medium of choice.  I'm pretty excited to be participating. Here is a preview of two of the four works I'll have in the show.

Prøve "Playground" Opening

Joe Aschebrock at Prøve "Playground"
The opening reception for Prøve "Playground" was fantastic!  It was a jubilant celebration of the creative spirit and a great way to kick off my favorite season, Autumn.  I've always associated this time of year with fresh starts and this show had the same excited feeling of newness.

I'm really glad to have been invited to participate by the wonderful Prøve Collective.  Showing at Prøve Gallery was my first foray up to the Duluth area, both the gallery and the city were great.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Prøve Playground opening 9.14.12.  It was one of the most playful and fun shows I've ever participated in.  We had a blast!

And of course a huge thank you to the Prove Collective for putting together an outstanding show and to all the Artists and Storytellers, Cheers!

Street Art in Berlin

We just got back from Berlin, Germany.  It was an amazing time.   Our hotel was about two blocks away from where Check point Charlie once stood. From that point we worked our way outward exploring the city as much as we could. I saw a lot of incredible art and amazing architecture on our visit.  Here's a few of the highlights from the trip.
